Justice Center, Almuñecar (Granada)
The triangular shape of the site, the topography, the visual relationship with the historic center, and the heights of surrounding buildings all informed the form and layout of our proposal.

Justice Center. BGF: ca. 2.600 m², Almu´´ñecar (Granada)
We opted for a solution that maximizes ground coverage, driven by two key objectives. First, to place all public-facing offices on the ground floor, avoiding vertical public circulation and thereby enhancing both accessibility and security. Second, to ensure a flexible spatial grid capable of accommodating future programmatic changes and evolving legal functions.
The ground floor program is organized around a central hall that manages all public circulation. The distinctive geometry of this space allows clear visual orientation across all public service areas. This geometric logic continues to the rooftop, where triangulated and inclined surfaces create a dynamic skyline with varying heights along the street façades.
Public Outdoor Spaces
The proposal defines three outdoor spaces, each with a distinct role:
- Foyer Area (North)
Located along Hurtado de Mendoza Street, this open space functions as the formal entrance to the building. It establishes a representative civic front, giving the Judicial Headquarters appropriate institutional presence and connecting it visually with the park across the street. - "Parking" Green
Buffer (South)
This landscaped area creates a green transition to the neighboring "Las Góndolas" residential complex. It improves the quality of the workspaces facing this direction and is designated for restricted access. - "Wedding"
Courtyard (West)
With controlled access, this space acts as a continuation of the main lobby, offering a ceremonial, human-scale outdoor area that opens towards the historic center of Almuñécar. It is intended for formal gatherings such as civil ceremonies.
